If your Sprinter did not come stock with powered sliding doors, it can be equipped with an electric sliding door on the right and/or left hand side with this assembly.
OPERATION AND OBSTACLE DETECTION
If the electric sliding door is obstructed while opening, the door stops. If the sliding door is obstructed during the closing procedure, it opens fully again.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
The internal and external handles of the vehicle can always be used, to operate the door manually, when needed.
OPENING/CLOSING THE SLIDING DOOR BY BUTTON
The door can be operated by a button located in the center console. Pressing the button while the door is in motion will stop the door; pressing again will change the direction of the door's movement.
OPENING/CLOSING THE SLIDING DOOR BY THE DOOR HANDLES
The door can also be operated by the inside/outside handles. Pulling the inside/outside door handle while the door is in motion will stop the door; pulling again will change the direction of the door. Handles function only when the ignition is on, though the door can be closed once when ignition is off.
OPENING/CLOSING THE SLIDING DOOR BY ORIGINAL KEYS
Opens with a press of the unlock key button twice; closes by pressing the lock key button once. Pressing the button while door is in motion will stop the door, while pressing again will change the direction of the door. The Mercedes Sprinter door is programmed to operate with the vehicle's original remote key, and only functions when the ignition is off.
